Looking Better in Your Uniform

Today, many people wear a uniform. This could be for work or for school; but the idea is the same…everyone looks the same. For a student, this can be particularly difficult, as a teen and young adult thrives on their individuality. Even past the school setting, wearing a uniform is an aspect of the job that many try to combat by making whatever small changes they can.

Luckily, there are ways that you can dress up your work or school uniform to the point where you feel great; even to the point where you don’t feel like you look the same as every other person around you.

Obviously, there are some ways in which you cannot make yourself unique. If you are working or attending a school where uniforms are required, it is unlikely that you could show up with blue hair or some other bold style statement. The goal is to maintain the professional look that the institution is after while still setting yourself apart from the crowd.

Now, if you wear a uniform, it is likely that you also wear an ID badge. Typical ID badge holders are absolutely blah. There is no other word for them. You may as well wear your pens lined up in the chest pocket of your shirt. But there is an alternative to the ID badge holder. Today, you can find beaded lanyards for badges at boojeebeads.com, the online place for adding style to your uniform. If you prefer a clip on badge holder, they’ve got those too – all with a fashion flare. Beaded lanyards are just one way to dress up your uniform. BooJee lanyards also come in cloth or leather, so the men who wear badges are not left out.

Wearing a uniform can sometimes play tricks with your figure. Uniforms like scrubs still need to fit well in order for you to look your best. And you do want to look your best. Just because you wear a uniform to work or school doesn’t mean that you don’t want to present as professional an appearance as possible. So when you wear a uniform, make sure that you choose a style and size that will not make you look heavier than you are. You want to feel good about yourself when you are at work, and taking the steps to find a well fitting uniform will help with that.

A uniform should also be maintained. Regular washing or dry cleaning of your uniform will keep it looking fresh and professional. This is the goal of a uniform – to look polished and professional. So mend repairs quickly and always keep your uniform looking clean. This is a small step; but one that will keep you looking and feeling good. A faded uniform looks old and unprofessional. If your uniform is dark colored, use a special laundry soap for dark colors in order to keep your uniform from fading before its time.

Most of us really care about the way we present ourselves to the world, especially on a professional level. Don’t fall into a rut just because you wear a uniform. Follow these tips and feel great as soon as tomorrow!
